By Coach

The Airline coaches from Heathrow and Gatwick Airports; the Oxford Tube and Oxford Espress Coaches from Victoria; all stop on St. Clement’s Street, outside the Inn. Telephone +44 (0)1865 785400 for the Oxford Bus Company (Airline & Express). Telephone +44 (0)1865 772250 for the Oxford Tube.

By Train

Oxford is on the mainline from London with connecting services to the West and North. For up to date train times contact National Rail Enquiries online or ring 08457 484950 from within the UK (or +44 (0)20 7278 5240 internationally). Rail tickets can be ordered online from the Trainline.

The walk from the railway station to the Inn (approximately 2 miles) takes you through the heart of historic Oxford. Alternatively, it is a pleasant taxi ride. There is a licensed taxi rank immediately outside the station.

 

By Car

From the South East (London & M40)

  • Leave the M40 at junction 8, signed Oxford, and follow the A40 to the Headington roundabout.
  • At the roundabout, take the second exit; signed for Headington and the city (A420 - London Road). This road will become Headington Road and finally St. Clements Street.
  • The hotel is situated on the corner of St. Clement’s Street and Dawson Street. The entrance to the car park is in Dawson Street.
  • If you miss the hotel, use the roundabout at the end of St. Clement’s Street to double-back.

From the South (A34)

  • Leave the A34 at the junction signed for the Ring Road (Eastern Bypass - A423 / A4142 and M40).
  • Take the third exit from the roundabout joining the A423, Eastern bypass.
  • At the third roundabout take the first exit, the Iffley Road, A4158, following signs for the City Centre.
  • At the roundabout where the Iffley Road, Cowley Road and the High Street meet, take the second exit, St. Clement’s Street.
  • The Hotel is situated on the Corner of St. Clement’s Street and Dawson Street. The entrance to the car park is in Dawson Street.

From the North and West (M40, A34, A40 etc.)

  • The centre of Oxford is closed to all through traffic between 7:30am and 6:30pm.
  • The route into town via the A420, from the west is often congested and motorists are advised to use the ring road to approach the centre via the A4158 - Iffley Road or B4150 - Marston Road (signed to the JR Hospital from the A40 Northern Bypass).
  • Note that if travelling from the North you will be guided into the city via the A34 and A40 by the road signs.
